Account Password Instructions

Purpose

This article covers how to log in for the first time for new students and new employees.

Instructions

  1. In your web browser, type account.tctc.edu in the address bar at the top of the screen.
    (Do not type www. prior to account.tctc.edu.)

  2. The below webpage will appear for laptop or desktop users:

    If using a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, the below page will appear instead:

  3. If you are using a mobile device, click the "Desktop Site" link. This link is located at the bottom-right corner of the page:

  4. Log in with your username. (Note: Your user name is the first part of your Tri-County email.)
  5. Your default password is your T-Number (including the capital letter T) followed by your 2-digit day of birth. (Example: If your T-Number is T0001234 and you were born on the 5th day of the month, your default password is T000123405.)
  6. After logging in, the site will immediately prompt you to create a new password.
  7. After successfully creating a new password, you will be able to login using your Tri-County credentials.

Common Issues

Finding your T-Number and/or username

If you do not know your T-Number or your username, first check your Tri-County acceptance letter. If you are still unable to find your T-Number, please contact the Service Desk at (864) 646-1779.

"Expired password" error message

Ensure you are logging in to account.tctc.edu and not into another part of the Tri-County website (such as MyTCTC, Blackboard, or email).

The default password will only work on the account.tctc.edu page. Trying to use the default password on any other Tri-County page will result in an expired password message.

"This connection is not private" message

If you receive this error message when going to account.tctc.edu, please see the "Connection is not private" error message article.
