How to Install VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use

This guide will walk you through the process of installing VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use on a MacOS device.

  1. Create a Broadcom Account
    1. Visit the Broadcom Registration Page (https://profile.broadcom.com/web/registration).
    2. Complete the Registration Form by filling in the required details to create your account.
    3. Check your email for a verification code from Broadcom and enter the code on the verification page to confirm your email.
  2. Download VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use
    1. Navigate to the VMware Fusion downloads page (https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=VMware+Fusion).
    2. Click on the latest version of “VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use”.
    3. Check the box next to “I agree to Terms and Conditions”.
    4. From the drop down menu, select “VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use (For Intel-based and Apple silicon Macs)” and click the download button.
    5. The installer for VMware Fusion Pro will begin downloading.
  3. Install VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use
    1. Locate the downloaded installer and open it.
    2. Double-click the “VMware Fusion.app” file in Finder.
    3. A pop up will appear informing you that the app was downloaded from the Internet. Click the “Open” button to continue.
    4. You will be prompted to give the installer administrator privileges. Follow the on-screen instructions to grant the installer the required privileges.
    5. Read and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
    6. Choose “I want to license VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use” and click continue.
    7. Click “Done” once the installation is finished.
  4. Configure VMware Fusion Pro for Personal Use
    1. Enable Accessibility Features for VMware Fusion Pro
      1. Go to your device’s System Settings.
      2. Navigate to the Privacy and Security section and grant VMware Fusion access to accessibility features.
    2. Launch VMware Fusion if it is not already running.
    3. Click the “Get Windows from Microsoft” button.
    4. Click the continue button on the Download and Install Windows 11.
    5. Leave the settings as default and click “Download Windows”. The download may take some time.
    6. Once the download is complete, click continue.
    7. Leave the settings as default and click continue.
    8. Set a password or use the Auto Generate Password option, then click continue.
    9. Leave the settings as default and click continue.
    10. Finally, click the “Finish” button.
  5. Install Windows 11 ARM in VMware Fusion Pro
    1. Start the virtual machine.
    2. While the virtual machine is starting press any key to boot into the Windows installer.
      • If you missed the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" prompt simply restart the virtual machine.
